Last May,my family took a magical trip to Walt Disney World. There were 7 of us on this trip and I was looking for every way to pinch pennies. I knew that it was going to be hot on the trip and we would want to be drinking water while we were in the park. We could have taken our own refillable water bottles and called it a day but after research I found the water in Orlando tastes terrible! This information was quoted in multiple sources that were saying how bad it was and to drink bottled water. So it looked like bottled water was going to be our option.
I looked up how much it would cost us to buy a bottle of water in the park. Hold your breath. $2.50 for a 20 oz. bottle. OUCH! That was not going to work for my budget. So my penny-pinching mind started to turn and think how we were going to get around this high price.
Water delivery.
No, I am not joking.
I had water delivered to our hotel room at the All-Star Movie Resort on Disney property. I did the math and it works out. I knew Staples delivered products and turns out they deliver water!
So here is how I did it:
I ordered the most inexpensive case of water I could find. On a normal day I would not buy bottled water. Period. But I was willing to spring for it vs. drinking the yucky water of Orlando vs. paying top dollar for bottled water.
The only kicker is that there IS a $9.95 delivery charge. BUT keep an eye out for a deal that if you purchase $XX of product delivery is free. Keep in mind Staples has snacks, other drinks, and breakfast items that they could deliver as well. Getting to that dollar amount shouldn’t be too hard for large groups.
Next step is to fill in your delivery information. Be sure to fill in your hotel information and conformation number. DO NOT fill in your home address in this section. Place your order about 2 days before you travel so that your order will arrive on your first day of your vacation. If you are lucky your order will beat you to your destination! Ask the front desk or concierge for your delivery when you arrive. We were fortunate that they delivered the cases of water to our room for us! Pop the water in the mini fridge and you have cold water by morning.

Here is the breakdown on the cost as of 2012.
Assuming we bought three 20 oz bottles of water in Disney each day at $2.50 a bottle for the 5 days we were in the parks. That would be 15 bottles for a cost of $37.50 for water. This is assuming we didn’t drink more that 3 per day.
2 Cases of water (16.9 oz at $5.99 per case) plus $9.95 delivery charge is $21.93 for 48 bottles. Or $.45 per bottle.
What would you like to pay? $2.50 for a Disney 20 oz bottle or $.45 for 16.9 oz. delivered to your hotel?
