I was at Giant yesterday with my coupons and list in hand and I cold NOT find the Bertoli ravioli. They were on sale and I had a coupon ( of course!) But I could not put my hands on them. After circling the store looking for a special display of them I discovered they were sold out on the shelf. So I marched myself up to the customer service desk and requested a rain check.
Rain checks are wonderful. They are a pass to get the sale price after the sale is over. Because the store was out of stock I can come back when they are back in stock and still receive the sale price. My rain check is good for up to 6 items and I have 60 days to redeem. I see it as I have 60 days to find 3 more coupons for $1 off!
So lesson learned is if the store is out of your sale product you are not out of the deal. Go get a rain check…then make sure you have enough coupons when you redeem.
