TICK REMOVAL

Spring is here and the ticks will be  showing their heads. Here is a good way to get them off you,  your children,or your pets. Give it a try.
This is great, because it works in  those places where it’s sometimes
difficult to get to with tweezers:between  toes, in the middle of a head full of
dark hair, etc.

Apply a  glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball, cover the tick with the
soap-soaked cotton  ball and swab it for a few seconds (15-20), the tick will
come out on its own  and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.

Unless someone is allergic to soap, I can’t see  that this would be damaging in
any  way.  It suffocates the tick forcing it to back out of you in search of oxygen. But little does it know it is helping you out by letting you go!

Hey, there I have to share my opinion as to tick removal. You should never use soap or anything else to try to remove a tick. I suffer from Lyme disease and not long ago finished 7 months of in home daily Iv antibiotic treatments.Which was my second round of Iv antibiotics in 4 years! The best advice I can give is if you are bitten by a tick or think you may have been bitten go to your doctor and request antibiotics it’s better to be safe than sorry. If the doctor refuses then find another doctor who will.Unless you have Lyme disease or know someone who has it you have no idea what it does to you mentally and physically and what your family must go threw along side of you! Take Care..Kristianne25

The reason one should NEVER employ ANY of these “annoying” types of tick removal methods is because the aggrieved tick may express his displeasure by releasing its salivary or gut contents into the wound. Any infectious agents present in the mix, go right along. Simply put, if you try to remove a tick the wrong way, you can increase the chances of acquiring a tick-borne illness.

My children’s doctor and our local pharmacist has recommended the soap on a cotton ball method – Rotating it CCW on tick. For details including their contact information and my first hand experience see http://www.caraaboutyou.blogspot.com
